   I really dont see much evidence that Heinlein thought a "utopia" (as in,   
   optimal, stable social structure) was possible.  Nor that the ST society   
   was all that long-term stable.  Any more than the society which created   
   Coventry was utopian (see Methuselah's Children), or that in The Moon is   
   a Harsh Mistress was (see the end of the novel, or see The Cat Who   
   Walked Through Walls), in any fundamental sense.
