   No, it wasn't. It was serialized in _Astounding_ and published by   
   Doubleday (not by Scribner's, and not as a juvenile).   
      
   Now, the audience for SF in generally was generally assumed to be on the   
   young side then -- and for adequate reason -- so it was probably read by   
   a lot of teenagers, then and over the next fifty years. But it wasn't   
   written as a "juvenile" nor published in a line aimed at juveniles.
