   Sorry, I wasn't clear. The point of a story is to entertain, putting   
   characters in danger is a great plot device if the danger is real (for   
   the characters) If we know they survive, then there is no danger, and we   
   know the situation must resolve itself without permanent harm to the   
   characters we know will survive.   
      
   I hope it doesn't try to explain/tie into the characters motivations too   
   much, you've said we have 100 episodes to come, thats a lot of   
   continuity to try and maintain.   
      
   Besides, if it's intended for kids, do they really care how or why   
   something happened as long as its superficially entertaining?
