Well, I disagree. The prequels are in their current form very much
like daytime TV in the way they're shot. I'm talking about the obvious
fact that you have two very distinct type of scenes; CGI shots where
the camera is all over the place and "conversation" shots where you
have two or three characters walking and talking, ending up at a
window or in a sofa. They walk some ten paces and then stop, then we
go to a shot/reverse shot cut of the conversation. This happens about
five or six times, at which point on of the characters turn and walk a
few paces to a window and continues to talk.

This is daytime TV, all day. Look at it. It's shot for efficiency, not
for telling a story with characters that we can relate to. The real,
practical, reason why the scenes are this way is of course that the
green screen walkways were just so long. They can't run down those,
and shooting on location or on a set would mean that George Lucas has
to stop drinking coffee in his chair :)

This has nothing to do with my idea above of course, and my only point
was to protect the integrity of some key scenes of the original
trilogy. I agree that it's a bit like a Days of our Lives story line
(no, *I* am your father, and your brothers sister!) but I think it
could have been done a bit better if a real screen writer would be put
   to the job :)
