   Abrams and crew did with the latest Trek what Abram's idol, Rod Serling,   
   did with The Twilight Zone. He told a sci-fi tale that reflects   
   contemporary issues, and did it with metaphor and allegory.   
      
   Of course Gene Roddenberry did the same with the original Trek series.   
      
   Abram's weaving of Trek with the contemporary is unbelievably brilliant,   
   imo.
