   No, these "reboot fools" are offered a job by the powers that be.   
   J.J..Abrams accepted such a  job.   
      
   He doesn't go around crying because he can't "make his own franchise".   
   He is a director. He is hired to direct. His bosses liked what he did   
   in TREK 2009. Abrams pleased his bosses and he makes a ton of money.   
   That is the ONLY standard in Hollywood, everything else being   
   subjective bullshit. And you are still in the basement.
