From: darth_azrael@yahoo.com              >I never said that is eas already ruined. That was someone       moron whining       >on about the Prequels.              Yet at least the prequels are here and we know how good or       bad they were and how well (or not) they fit in. The sequels       aren't here yet and you are already whining about those.              >> I have merely pointed out many logical reasons       >> why the new movies will NOT "ruin" the franchise. You       have       >> pointed out NO logical reasons why they will.       >       >Actually I did, but again you weren't able to read or       comprehend them.       >       >As I said, the vast majority of people are dumber than dog       crap - slap       >the same name name on it and fools blindly believe it's       actually part       >of the same franchise, even when told by the people making       it that it       >is different. :-\              The key word is 'logical'. All of the Star Wars movies have       had different people working on them, including different       writers. The new trilogy is no different. Arguably the new       trilogy is closer to the original in terms of the people       involved (at least the first one is). If you sat down and       watched all 6 existing movies I seriously doubt you could       tell me who wrote the scripts and who directed each one or       even if they were the same people if you did not already       know. The fact that there are new people involved in the       movies is NOT a logical reason to assume that they will not       fit in. It is also NOT logical to assume that they won't fit       in because it has happened to other franchises especially       when in most of those cases they were not intended to in the       first place. There is currently no existing fact that I am       aware of (certainly none that you have pointed out) that       points to the new movies not fitting in with the previous       ones. You have stated only the creator has a 'moral' right       to make changes to a franchise. If that is the case there       would be no more Star Trek and no more Star Wars. I don't       think there are very many fans who want that.              You seem to have something personal against Abrams. Why? He       seems to have done a good job on the movies and tv shows he       has worked on. The decision to change the Trek timeline was       not his (or certainly not his alone). What else is it you       don't like about him?              The new movies may fit in or they may not, they may be good       or they may be crap, but I don't think there is anything so       far to inspire anything other than cautious optimism about       the outcome. The fact that new Star Wars movies are being       made is, for now, a good thing not a bad one. It's a shame a       supposed fan doesn't see it that way. :-\       --       --> http://www.megalextoria.com/forum2 <--              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
