   Of course. I'm just saying that "convoluted explanation" is sort of the   
   backbone of Star Wars :)

   I hope it's somewhere in between. I.e. she may not be Skywalker bloodline, but   
   her parents were special in some way, and Luke will turn out to know about   
   them, and know why they left her etc etc.   
      
   Snope is a bit of a wild card here as well. Seeing how he's going to train Ren,   
   he is also force sensitive, but seeing that he seems to be rather old, who is   
   he? And what was he doing at the time of the rebellion?   
      
   Is there an interesting backstory here, about how Snope rose to power after   
   something related to the new Jedi order?   
      
   When you think about it, it could be quite complex and interesting still, and   
   the more straight forward ANH-like storyline of TFA might have been a genius   
   way to create a simplistic surface adventure for a more complex relational   
   drama in the later movies. I.e. exactly like the original trilogy.
