   I haven't finished reading the last Japanese volume yet, but my quick   
   skim through indicated that AYA was at least going to try to do   
   something with the original premise by actually forcing the issue of the   
   Hanabishi succession.  I'm curious how the manga-ka will write himself   
   out of this corner.  But I'm hopeful because I _really_ liked how he   
   finished Tina Foster's arc.  Much better done than the anime.
