that is his style, make me think that he might not be working with
assistants, and don't you think it is actually different compare to the
   typical commerical screentones style?

no worse than the below par drawing in School Rumble or Love Roma IMO,
which, btw, would not be acceptable for a drama or action title, but
perfect for a light comedy, while Iwakki or Saimon are perfect for drama
type manga, in fact, none of those 4 artwork bother me as much as the
craps character design in Initial D, talk about all the manga I read
that do not have exceptional artworks at all.

you can do both, either by sub long term w/ a discount or off the
counter at the regular price. (w/ no assurance that it might be sold
   out.)

keep in mind each Kino operate independently and could be different.

Afternoon one year subscription with SJ Kinokuniya,

   good,

   $74, $80.11 after CA tax

   bad

3 weeks delay via sea shipping, (could be more if stuck in custom, a
more frequent occurance since 9/11). and you have to go to the bookstore
to pick it up, (not a problem for me since I go there once a week
anyway.) if you are not living near one, then I think is $5 additional
   shipping for each copy.

oh, and you can't subscript to a mag the local store is not carrying,
which is why I am not getting Ultra Jump from SJ Kino, even thought it
is carried by SF Kino, I don't think I want to drive to SF each month
   to pick it up.

for the nearest one, check kinokuniya.com
