From: kishik@parkcity.ne.jp              It's getting more pain for me to wait for every       next volume of "Nodame Cantabile". The volume       13 came out yesterday, and I grabbed it and read       it ASAP. The manga is so funny and entertaining.              Nodame, aka Noda Megumi, is a born pianist,       a wild animal and a "hentai" [abnormal] girl who is       studying piano in a music school. One day, Chiaki       Shin'ichi heard a strange but techinically excellent       play of piano in the school. Later, Shin'ichi found       the palyer of the piano was Nodame and begun to       take care of her in a bizarre way. Besides, the music       school is full of funny people who are doing wrong.       Shin'ichi whose only wish is becomming a conductor       is always disturbing by them.              Nodame is a kind of super pianist, but she don't       want to be a concert pianist and plays piano only       for her own enjoyment despite hopes of people       who know her performance.              The manga is a very good mix of humor and seriousness.       It's like a "spokon" campus love comedy about music.       There are many scenes of performing classic musics       in a variety of situations such like concerts, competitions,       lessons, studies, etc. The character design isn't very       sophisticated but isn't bad either. The artwork of the       background looks good and of the musical instruments       is excellent.              In the 13th volume, I was shocked by Nodame having       kicked Shin'ichi's back or having bitten his neck for       jealousy. What brutal girl she is! But she begun studying       piano seriously in the Conservatoire in Paris to fix her       week points in playing piano. Has she changed her mind       and is she going to be a concert pianist eventually? At least,       she got a first chance to play with Shin'ichi in a concert.       How well they can play? We'll see in the next volume.              --        / Ishikawa Kazuo /              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
