   33yo here and one of my favourite series is actually Ai Yori Aoshi (manga   
   only, the anime bites).   
      
   The artwork is to die for and the storyline is slow paced and sweet.   
      
   I am pretty heavily jaded for a 33yo and the sheer niceness of the   
   characters actually makes me nostalgic for the time when I was young and   
   still human.   
      
   The lack of mecha, fighting, teen angst and world endangering events is also   
   refreshing.   
      
   Be aware the anime doesn't successfully walk the same tightrope and is just   
   sappy as all hell.
