Thanks for all the suggestions above and below, I'm sure there'll be more
than a few I'll like there.

Yeah, I know that but I read some fairly nice reviews somewhere.

I seem to get very mixed opinions on Clamp titles. Chobits was one of the
first anime series I saw and while I was quite undecided about what I
really thought about it, it did grow on me though I didn't really care
much about the ending. I'm still not sure why I liked it, probably just
because it's cute and fairly amusing. I'm sure there are good arguments
about the whole (sex) robot vibe though. Still, I like stories that bring
up questions about what makes us human (I like Bladerunner). I'm rambling,
   sorry...

   Interesting experience. :-)

Several people mention this one, so it'll definitely go on my list.

Of course, this goes for pretty much anyting, from books to music.

Sweden, not Swizerland. Book stores carry a lot of titles in
English, but they have to fight Swedish books for space so you can't
find everything. There is less manga in Swedish than English and most of
what there is, is primarily for teens. And where I live, book stores
aren't that large - definitely not Barnes and Noble sized (I assume, never
having been to one). So, physical browsing opportunities are somewhat
limited which means the internet is my primary source for info.

Absolutely, I just wanted tips on titles that are harder for me to find
out about on my own and was curious about stuff for more mature readers.

Thanks for the long and detailed reply, it was very helpful.
