   Any who don't feel the need to splooge their ego all over somebody else's   
   story.  If you had bothered to actually read the original post I started   
   this thread with instead of knee-jerking over someone criticizing Peter   
   David, you would have read my overall praise for the work Douglas Varenas   
   did on Vol. 5 of Negima.

   No, I use them to determine how somebody else translated certain lines   
   that the "legitimate" translations use that make me go, "this ain't   
   right."  I usually end up finding out that, no, the legit translator   
   wasn't right.

   I would have enjoyed it much more if only I didn't get the overbearing   
   feeling that I was having my intelligence insulted by the adaptations.  I   
   enjoyed what I read of the scanlations of it.

   I can dig a story which has smut to begin with.  Just don't try to stick   
   any of your own where there wasn't any to begin with (or take away any   
   that the original creator put there).  Or, for that matter, any element.   
   *That's* what pissed me off.
