If you were having this conversation with me, that one sentence would
have landed you in my killfile. Dave is somewhat more forgiving than I
am in this sort of situation, though - he's more likely to just
metaphorically rip you a new one for calling him a liar. I thought you
might want to know ahead of time...

In the subgenre of comedy known as "bedroom farce", characters are
*supposed* to end up naked or nearly so. It's one of the genre
conventions. (Perhaps you should read more French or Belgian comic
books...) Do you also complain about the genre convention that nobody
realizes Clark Kent is Superman?
Dialogue is not supposed to be re-written just because somebody wants to
show how "hip" he or she is. If someone wants to show off his or her
hipness, that someone should write his or her own story. When the
contract is to localize someone else's work, please leave the hipness
level where it was.
Humour does not need to be added to a story that is already humourous.
Jokes can be substituted for different cultures (although even that much
annoys purists), but that's different from adding jokes where no jokes
existed in the original.
