   I donno, probably nationalism _is_ on the rise (times of economic   
   hardship tends to do that), and right-wing parties have too much   
   inflence, but except for the textbook issue, the above don't seem like   
   very good examples of it.   
      
   Japan is like any other country, if you push them, they'll push back, and   
   the increasing strength of their neighbors has led to tussles here and   
   there -- but I don't think it's fair to scream "nationalism, evil, evil,   
   evil!".
