   Nothing unusual about exporting culture. Hollywood has been doing it for   
   decades and decades and just about every western city has a Chinatown.   
      
   Anime and Manga are a great asset for Japan in generating interest in their   
   culture, and it will get bigger as Manga becomes more and more mainstream.   
   It would be interesting to view some (impossible to get) stats on how many   
   foreign otaku have travelled to Japan as tourists and students as a result   
   of their hobby.
