I was wondering about that. It would be nice to have a bi-monthly issue
of an anthology with a variety of titles in it.

I forget the title of the one I read. I bought my first issue for
Yotsubato, and then tried the others and thought one of them was
interesting. But yeah, DD would be a more natural choice to bring to
NA, but if what you say next is true...

Yeah, I remember paying quite a bit for my issue (but it included an
Ichigo Marshmellow figurine :-)). But if there's more than a couple
titles I want to read, even if it's just to kill time, it might be worth
$8 US. But publishing something that thick on low quality paper is
actually quite cheap (Remember even the Sears catalog usually cost less
than a $1 to print in full-color glossy). It would be the translation &
licensing fees that would drive the cost up.

That's my theory. It doesn't even seem to interest the Otaku in fansubs
   and scanlations.

Of course. I'm a failure as an otaku. I'll turn in my figurines and
Gundam models on the way out. I loved the initiation they had for their
   new members. :-)

Good point. But Del Ray also got someone who knew manga to run the
   division, IIRC.

   I read about that.

A big sell through of uncensored manga would be a good thing, in my
books. Not because I really get off on the echi stuff (it's nice, I
must admit..), but because there are other manga out there where the
nudity and adult themes are an important part of the story (e.g., Dance
   Til Tomorrow).
