"Anime" is an animated show of some kind. Sometime called
"teribi manga" for "Television manga". These are usual continuing
stories from a couple of OVAs or Original Video Animations to
TV shows that run on for several hundred episodes.

You can learn more about anime by going to rec.arts.anime.misc
and checking out the Anime Primer published there.

"Manga" is a cartoon which may be only a single panel or a
recurrent 4 panel strip or a very extended story covering many
chapters and volumes. Narrative art with visuals is the essense
   of both manga and anime.

Hentai refers to erotic interest of varying degrees from
soft porn with big breasts and shots of panties to full on
porn with various sex acts aside from the genitalia depicted.

In the USA we use anime and manga to refer to Japanese
   originated
video and manga to refer to Japanese originated cartoons.
But the Japanese have a differing view and believe that manga at
least may be taking hold of creators' sensibilites across the world.
Anime for the them is anyone's animation of stories where ever in the
   world it may originate..
