From: fubar-removeme@uq.net.au              > does it ruin the sense of real manga or is it just annoying? tell us       > what you think about it.              Doesn't really bother me, I choose Manga based mostly on the aesthetic       quality of the artwork. Sure there is "American Manga" out there but there       is none on my shelves at home because it tends to be lacking in that very       area I look for.              Some of it I see looks quite vulgar visually, like they photoshopped some       oversized eyes on a parody and decided to call it manga. You can't blindly       copy or manafacture the "X factor" that makes Japanese Manga so visually       appealing and aesthetically "right".              For that reason - I see no problem in making Manga in other countries, just       like I have no problems in drinking 'Champagne' made here is Australia. It       is not the same as the original of course, but then again language is       dynamic and terms and words can come to have a much broader scope without       detracting from the original.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
