   Sometimes, yes. Novelisations can sometimes shed light on story segments   
   that a film maker will skip for various reasons, not least "timing" or   
   "flow", a common excuse.

   True, though you may not be aware of it unless you are familiar with both.

   I don't mind either, or indeed the alternative telling of a story. I'll   
   tend to judge each on its own merits, though I tend to find certain   
   patterns when it comes to anime versions of manga. These are mostly where   
   some storylines or chara are missed out. Manga versions of anime is   
   slightly different, and I tend to be far less satisfied with such projects.

   True. I could say the same about the GitS movies, too, but I found that   
   SAC made up for the shortcomings of those.
