   In the link starky posted to the ANN article for this Youka Nitta case,   
   if you go read through the forum comments on it, you'll see a plagiarism   
   case mentioned where the author whose work was plagiarized was forced to   
   accept some under-the-table "deal" because the plagiarizing author had   
   important parents. Apparently, this sent the author whose work was   
   plagiarized into "remission"/hiding for a while.
