   	For every successful chipping on this side, someone else manages to   
   UNchip. I don't know of any long-standing successful laws that oppose   
   free speech that don't boil down to the "Shout Fire in a Crowded   
   Theater" approach.

   	No. There are states which have legislated that schools must teach   
   Intelligent Design (and often they've been told otherwise and had to   
   back down), but none that I am aware of which have actually BANNED it.   
      
   	Banned means you can't get the material legally. This is not the same   
   as "you can't teach this material in our publicly-funded schools".

   	The idea that there's people even debating whether the basic theory of   
   evolution is correct or not is offensive, but that's another discussion.
