I'm thinking my best bet would probably be sources in or marketing to
Australia and New Zealand. I did find 'Chuang Yi', a company in Singapore
that publishes English-language manga editions for SE Asia, Australia, and
New Zealand, but they don't carry anything I need and they don't ship to
   consumers outside their area.

But they did just now lead me to 'Madman Entertainment', their distributor
for Australia and New Zealand. I'll take a look at their site soon to see
if I can get any leads there.

(Until I found the link from 'Chuang Yi' a few minutes ago, I had no idea
what your reference to 'Madman' meant... To answer your question, 'Madman'
   does do manga.)

I've been rummaging through my stacks of old manga for a few days, and so
far I've found _22_ series that I can't complete because the later volumes
aren't available. A few of those might just be out of print and hard to
find, but the majority are ones that were dropped by the U.S. publisher
before they'd released the entire series.

Very frustrating, especially since several of the series were dropped and
left hanging with just three or fewer volumes left to go.
