We may have a similar store here in San Francisco       but not close by. As the Web got stronger most of the used book       stores closed. But I am talking about the downtown area and there       might be good used book stores in other parts of town.       >       > Although Kinokuniya Bookstore is at 10 W 49th Street, I haven't       > been there in a very long time. Some art books are opened up as sample but the ordinary       manga (Japanese or English translated) are shrink-wrapped. I       never buy blind any longer but am currently getting 1 volume       per month of Family Compo (F.Compo, Xenon Comics) in Japanese \\which is       still continuing, despite the fact that with electronic media I have       read the whole thing to date already. I feel the author Hojo Tsukase       deserves a good income even if a licensed translation never happens. I       am glad that Cross Game is out and is something I haven't read before.        But it was the sampling of Adachi's work that is available online that       convinced me of his worth.               So if you want to know what a given volume is like       in artwork and story, Google the name and look for the       fan scanalations. Sometimes just a few lines and pictures       are enough to convince you of the need to have a particular       book.               bliss                             --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
