XPost: rec.arts.anime.misc.       From: bliss-sf4ever@dslextreme.com               I bought this at Kinokuniya's manga shop in       Nihon Machi, San Francisco at the corner of Webster and       Geary.        Well I mentioned this book earlier and I got a refund       from a UG I belong to and blew $29.95 + tax on this classic book       explaining a bit about manga and the mangaka of the times.        Authored by Frederik L. Schodt this edition is       in brightly colored hard covers and is published by       Stone Bridge Press of Berkeley, California. Copyright       from 1996 and 2011. New introduction and new essay on       on the state of manga and its future replacing the old       and out-of-date contact information section in the original       edition. New on the front cover is Collector's Edition.        All the rest is much as it was when I borrowed       the book from the San Francisco Public Library in 2003       which made it a problem to keep reading.               I think if anyone has a serious interest in       manga and the people who made it what is today that       they could do far worse than a paperback copy of       this fine volume.               Bobbie Sellers              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
