   	Sorry about that.   
   	Would have fixed it sooner but crashed last Saturday and the   
   notebook has been in the shop since.  They did not fix it but they   
   confirmed what I had guessed.  Mainboard lost its SATA capacity.   
   	Booting from my external drive that used to be inside the   
   machine.   
   	Not too much slower but working.
