        In 1853 a samurai student of Western technology and in love with   
   his idea of America decides against the law to leave Japan and ride back   
   to the USA on the Black Ships of Commodore Perry.   Along the way he   
   buys some psychedelic candy and trips encountering folkloric characters   
   with magical effects.   
      
        I enjoyed this very much.  It reminded me of the Underground   
   Vegetable Stagecoach comix books in the 1970s.   Too bad it is only   
   two longish chapters.
