XPost: rec.arts.anime.misc       From: bliss-sf4ever@dslextreme.com              Hi readers and posters,               I had occasion to visit Nihon Machi in San Francisco today.        Lots of new shops including a Japanese game arcade.       Japan Video had some newer stuff on sale at the front of       the store and looked to be doing great business.        Many people in the mall and the shops much cuteness       in the stores, lots of lovely food of which I must not partake       less it make me ill due to sensitivities.        Another shop featured Gundam model/figures at about       $90 each , 4 figures from Dragon Ball or DB Z in       the window of the shop made a brave display. In       another shop the Samurai historical figures have been       replaced by contemporary troops in the latest gear       including a sniper.               I got Ooku volume 9 at the manga shop opening on       Webster near Geary. Lots of other stuff I wanted but       the prices were too much for my limited wallet.        One was by Satoshi Kon "Opus" which is about a       manga artist who has a character objecting to his       plotted demise in the strip. Tons of other manga       translated to English and more in Japanese.               Some special events coming up at the end of June and an       Anime show featuring an international cosplayer, Reika, in       mid-July.        Will try for more information on these events and post       anything useful here.               If you love contempory furniture and have lots of cash,       by the way around the corner on Fillmore Street at Geary       is a new Zinc Details store, (zincdetails.com) full of       beautiful and very expensive furniture. When I say       expensive a desk at $4200 USD and a black laquered       step stool for <$500 US. Finest woods wonderful       finishes. Saw two new types of folding beds there       too.               I got out of there before I could start drooling and       spoil the lovely woods and fabrics.               bliss              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
