   "Japan's Longest Day"  a manga - November 7, 2025   
     Author:Kasutoshi Hando - original story   
     Artist: Yukinobu Hoshino - manga adaptaion   
      
     Genre: Historical covers the few days from the decision to surrender   
   and the   
     factions within the IMP which opposed surrender and the historical   
   examples   
     and philosophy with which they were misled.   
      
         This is a 452 page softcover book, from Tuttle Publishing. price seems   
         to be in the $20 neighborhood and has been made as a live action movie   
         and maybe an anime. One movie starred Toshiro Mifune and is   
   available on   
         remastered Blue-Ray.  It is supposed to be 5 hours long and it may   
   have   
         taken longer for me to read this as at points I had to use a   
   magnifier to   
         read the dialogue. Plots were made but not executed by junior officers   
         to overthrow the government and take control of the Emperor who had   
         decided to end the War.  This manga shows how these ideological   
         extremists fared.  Tuttle has an advertisement in the rear of the book   
         for other works from overseas authors.
