Hm, the fulerenes seem to be good idea, some composites also, maybe?

"Incidentally, I don't know if you know this, but a truss is actually stronger
than a solid piece of metal of the same size and shape"

Hm, yeah, heard about it, this would be helpful, low weight + great strength.

"If by "on the line" you mean a conventional rocket design with the thrusters
   to the aft"

Oh, and here seems to be my mistake, by lines i meant cables, in my country we
call cable "lina", so that's the source of my misspell. I think making the
ship composed from engine "tug" section, then cables, and small "connector"
   part, that can accept
many types of modules or detachable crafts. You are not limited by truss
lenght, shape or anything, and you have smaller problem with radiation, you
doesn't have your cargo, warship etc. between antimatter lightbulbs. Oh, but
   you need manevuering
thrusters on detachable module / warship in my concept.

"Are you posting from a phone or something?"

Yup, everything here posted on my trusty Sony Xperia Z1 Compact ;)

   "Works for me."

Ok, so i will stay with that.

"Okay, I'll try to find time. Like I said, it's ugly. I do much better with
   pencil on paper."

Hm, so maybe you could try making sketches in future? What do you think? I
honestly don't know how good I am with pencil, I just sketch stuff in my
notebook when I'm bored on lessons :D

"My 64th birthday was last week. I was thinking about this kind of stuff when
I was 16 too, but I had nobody to talk about it with.

     I love the internet!"

Huh, praise the Internet! Happy birthday ;)
Honestly I have noone from my friends to talk about space and stuff like that.
I will dig through rest of your post later, sorry, but I'm on mountain trip,
   not a lot of time.
