   you jump to your "not ture" conclusions way too fast   
      
   caliche has some calcium carbonate from small to tiny old sea critters,   
   the whitish stuff, but take a look at it under the microscope  in some   
   of the caliche here you can see the structures of the critters, in other   
   caliches here we have entire shells.
