   In the original context (which was a few months ago) I was referring to   
   the SF staple of people finding old tech from previous civilizations,   
   which still works.   
      
   With our current tech, cable insulation after a few hundread years would have   
   broken down, solid-state electronics diffused into uselessness, lubricants   
   resinated, ball bearings seized, ...
