   Yes of course. But what we want is a mission to get done, and then I think   
   that economy and comfort should be prioritized lower than survivability.   
   All we need is one guy to get close enough to control the drones with a laser   
   link-up.

   Good question. If computers cant self drive/aim a drone, an armored van is   
   just as fine. From the additional info it would not seem that the population   
   is high enough to have these things.
