Which would be communism - or Star       Trek.       This will of course only work (pun not intended) when people and society       stop thinking that work, job and wealth define the status of a human being.              A change of thought like this requires time and effort. Many people do       not like changes at all and will fight tooth and nail to keep the things       like they "always" were, which maybe an explanation of trends we can       watch today.              I am not sure if this will work out - but one should consider that a       world "where nobody must work" is a very old dream...       The alternative could be something like the "Hunger Games" - a rich       neo-feudal aristocracy ruling over poor commoners. This would lead to       stagnation. To work, capitalism needs many consumers who buy stuff. If       the consumers have no money to spend, the rich will not sell stuff to       anybody and become poorer within short time.              And one final thought - I simply do not believe that computers or robots       will ever make real art. Painting something "in the style of artist X"       is not making original art, nor is it "writing" a pop song based on the       algorithms of the last 100 top ten hits.       A computer can only follow it's software, as complex as it may be. If he       does not follow his programming, you will not get art, you will get your       blue screen of death.              Thoughts?                     Bye       Ingo              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
