I was thinking lasers because it       requires no ammo and no recoil. Water-cooled(most common solid in the       universe) though any cold liquid        would do in case water isn't available but other coolants are. it would come       with its own solar cells though soldiers would have a larger solar array. the       laser would be the most efficient varity.
