   Yeah... in my writers group, we were discussing how to possibly   
   save this.  The thing we came up with is that the Martian dust   
   storms, in order to be dust storms, are obviously blowing dust   
   around.  If the lander is parked partially on dust and partially   
   on rock, the storm might undermine one of the landing legs.   
      
   Also, the wind wouldn't have enough power to rip something loose,   
   but if something already unsecured was picked up by the wind, it   
   would ultimately be moving at about the speed of the wind.
