You're right, of course.              Still, the weight of the pressure hull grows linearly with volume, and a       sizable amount of it would already be provided by the ship's armored hull.       Which the ship will have, otherwise getting hit by virtually anything is a       death warrant, and damage        control is no longer an issue.
