The Doctor is a male character and Jodie       > Whittaker is a shit actress and Chis Chibnall is a shit writer       > who destroyed the entier franchise with the Timeless Child       > monster.              I didn't have a problem with Jodie Whittaker's casting. I did       have an issue with the [generally] poor scripts and three       companions cluttering up the TARDIS during her era though.       (Which in turn affected the stories, as trying to focus on three       companions often diverted attention away from the Doctor.)              It's true that some in Doctor Who fandom didn't like a female       13th Doctor and were against Jodie Whittaker from the very       beginning, but to blame the fans for the failures of that era is       taking the easy way out.              There's a trend nowadays for producers, writers and actors to       point the figure at fans when a show/franchise doesn't do as       well as they had hoped. But liking a TV show is not compulsory,       a show has to earn its audience. If a fan isn't getting       enjoyment from a TV show then that's their prerogative, they       don't HAVE to like it. The producers should look a bit closer to       home as to why some people were finding that Doctor Who was not       as entertaining as it once was. I know for a fact other people,       like myself, didn't object to Jodie's 13th Doctor per se but       just thought a lot of the episodes were poor and not very       enjoyable. That's not on the fans, or Jodie Whittaker... that's       on Chris Chibnall.              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
