"Doctor Who was a top 5       > series on Disney+ globally every week it aired."              I assume that means Disney were happy enough with it. If they       are still happy after S2/S15 airs then they might be inclined to       order some more episodes.              If they don't, we'll know that "Doctor Who" didn't reach Disney's       expectations viewer wise.              > That is a much more positive view for the bottom line, and for       > the prospects of a follow up Disney deal, than I've ever heard.              A bit of positivity is always good. We could have done with some       of that when all the YouTube nay-sayers were doing their bit...              > > Roll on April 12th...       >       > If that level of Disney viewership is sustained, and it can       > stay a top 10 show on the BBC, then renewal is looking more       > and more likely. Even if the quality doesn't improve (and       > we're guaranteed at least one very whimsical and childish       > episode, with the recent cartoon Alan Cumming episode       > announcement ...)              Whimsical and childish, plus an episode with singing... the       forthcoming season of "Doctor Who" looks like being a mixed bag.       I just hope the quality does improve some bit. The show is on       trial for its life. (If we are to believe the rumours.) Now is       not the time for too much silliness or gimmicks.              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
