From: wlah...@gmail.com              Hey,              There's an era in Brit cinema – and this film is an example – that is       chicken soup for my eyes. Black and white cinematography, a game cast, a good       story, all get chucked in the pot and what results is usually a fine movie.              This is a heist movie that isn't carried out by East End thugs and goons.       Instead, they are all desperate ex-military and rounded up by a former       commanding officer. Every step has been calculated and every contingency       planned for, except for an eight-       year-old boy with an odd hobby.              More of a comedy than a tense, knuckle-biting bank robbery, the movie sports a       wonderful cast, a good director, and a story that moves right along.              Directed by Basil Dearden from a screenplay by Bryan Forbes based on the novel       by John Boland. Cinematography by Arthur Ibbetson and music by Philip Green.       Starring Jack Hawkins, Nigel Patrick, Roger Livesey, Bryan Forbes, and Richard       Attenborough, among        others.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
