   Too many modern movies (and TV shows) are simply "reboots" of older   
   things, where they have made lots of idiotic changes, usually to   
   appease the "Politically Correct" nutters and/or satisfy the new   
   maker's ego.   
      
   There's also the massive franchises, where they keep releasing a new   
   movie / TV series in the same "universe". The result is often   
   "franchise fatigue" where supposedly the fans have got bored with it,   
   but the reality is that it is more usually the writers who simply   
   haven't got any sensible new ideas ... at which point they lazily   
   "reboot" the whole thing from the start again.
