Beloved 80s Diane Keaton Movie Getting Reboot at Amazon MGM
       -----------------------------------------------------------
A movie starring Diane Keaton that was released in the 1980s
is being remade at Amazon MGM Studios.

Keaton passed away last month at the age of 79. The Academy
Award-winning actress is known for starring in movies such
as Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather trilogy, 1973's
Sleeper, 1975's Love and Death, 1977's Annie Hall, and many
       more.

What Diane Keaton movie is getting a reboot?
Per Jeff Sneider's The InSneider, Amazon MGM Studios is now
developing a "modern reimagining" of 1987's Baby Boom.

Directed by Charles Shyer, who co-wrote the script with Nancy
Meyers, Baby Boom stars Keaton as J.C. Wiatt, while the cast
also includes Sam Shepard as Dr. Jeff Cooper, Harold Ramis as
Steven Buchner, Sam Wanamaker as Fritz Curtis, and James
       Spader as Ken Arrenberg.

A synopsis for the film reads, "J.C. Wiatt (Diane Keaton) is
a New York City businesswoman who is married to her job and
has a relationship with Steven (Harold Ramis), a successful
investment broker. J.C.'s life takes an unexpected turn when
a relative suddenly dies and makes her the caretaker of a
baby girl. Soon, the baby's arrival causes J.C. to lose first
Steven, and then her job. She moves to Vermont and embarks on
a series of life-changing events. But when offered the
opportunity, will she return to her corporate ways?"

The new Baby Boom movie will be produced and directed by
Michael Showalter, who previously helmed movies such as 2015's
Hello, My Name Is Doris, 2017's The Big Sick, 2020's
The Lovebirds, 2021's The Eyes of Tammy Faye, 2022's Spoiler
Alert, and 2024's The Idea of You. Also known for starring in
2001's Wet Hot American Summer, Showalter has a new movie
coming out, titled Oh. What. Fun., next month.
