Will Ferrell's Elf Sets 2025 Theatrical Rerelease Date With New Content
      -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Warner Bros. Discovery has prepared an exciting gift for Elf fans: an
annual celebration honoring the classic Christmas movie, along with a
theatrical rerelease and new content on the way.

Starring Will Ferrell, the holiday feature - released on November 7,
2003 - is widely considered one of the best Christmas movies of all
time. The Jon Favreau-directed film also stars James Caan, Zooey
Deschanel, Mary Steenburgen, Ed Asner, and Bob Newhart.

What new content is in the 2025 Elf theatrical rerelease?
Elf is scheduled to return to cinemas on December 12. According to
The Hollywood Reporter, the theatrical rerelease of the film will also
feature "Buddy's Sing & Cheer Along Edition," along with on-screen
lyrics, trivia, and some visual comedic bits.

Warner Bros. Discovery will also honor the beloved movie with the first
annual celebration called "December the TwELFth," set to commence on
December 12. Elf the Musical will kick off the festivities with a
special noon performance in New York City's Times Square.

This one-day festivity will also include Elf photo stations, some
shopping experiences, an opportunity to write to Santa Claus, and
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood - a visit to the Warner Bros. Studio
Store, which would allow guests to see the film's original costumes.
WBD will also match all donations to the American Red Cross made that
      day, up to $100,000.

Elf tells the story of Buddy Hobbs (Ferrell), a man raised in the North
Pole by Santa's elves. When he learns he's actually human, he sets off
for New York, where he meets his biological father, Walter Hobbs (Caan).

Elf premiered in 2003 to strong critical praise and quickly became a
major box-office hit, securing its place as a beloved holiday cult
classic. The movie later inspired the 2010 Broadway production
Elf: The Musical as well as the 2014 stop-motion TV special
      Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas.
