       Classic Keanu Reeves Movie Getting TV Show Sequel

       A classic Keanu Reeves movie is getting a TV show sequel.   
      
       Reeves has starred in a number of beloved movies throughout his   
       career, with his first feature film role being in 1986's   
       Youngblood. Since then, he's been seen in titles such as 1989's   
       Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, 1991's Point Break, 1992's   
       Bram Stoker's Dracula, 1994's Speed, 1999's The Matrix, 2005's   
       Constantine, 2014's John Wick, and many more.   
      
       What Keanu Reeves movie is getting a TV show sequel?   
       Per Deadline, it has now been announced that AMC is developing   
       a sequel TV show to Point Break. The project comes from David   
       Kalstein, Alcon Television Group, and AMC Studios.   
      
       "The series is set 35 years after the events of the original   
       film and is focused on a dangerous heist crew with ties to the   
       Ex-Presidents gang," a description of the show reads. Further   
       plot details remain under wraps at this time, though the article   
       also notes that AMC "won the project in a highly competitive   
       situation."   
      
       Kalstein will write the project and serve as an executive   
       producer alongside Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, and Ben   
       Roberts.   
      
       Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, Point Break sees Reeves play FBI   
       agent Johnny Utah, while the cast of the movie also includes   
       Patrick Swayze as Bodhi 'Bodhisattva,' Gary Busey as Angelo   
       Pappas, Lori Petty as Tyler Ann Endicott, John C. McGinley as   
       Ben Harp, and James LeGros as Roach.   
      
       "After a string of bizarre bank robberies in Southern   
       California, with the crooks donning masks of various former   
       presidents, a federal agent, Johnny Utah, infiltrates the   
       suspected gang," a description of the film reads. "But this is   
       no ordinary group of robbers. They're surfers - led by the   
       charismatic Bodhi - who are addicted to the rush of thievery.   
       But when Utah falls in love with a female surfer, Tyler, who is   
       close to the gang, it complicates his sense of duty."   
      
       Point Break was remade in 2015, though that project received   
       mostly negative reviews from critics. It starred Édgar Ramírez,   
       Luke Bracey, Ray Winstone, and Teresa Palmer.
