   Your piece is "the cat's ass" isn't it, you've lost me in two sentences.   
     Start scrapping it from the beginning, paragraph at a time, and see if   
   anything is left; anyone who starts a piece like this has already gone   
   far wrong.  The gods have blessed you with writer's block, murder some   
   darlings.
