Ah, yeah. That'd be the thing to do different for me.

Just like I made what I see as a proper evil overlord, I'd want what I
see as a proper god (as opposed to humans in god suits). Where I run
   into the mentioned problems.

Gods as bad guys could work, but my evil overlords and ladies already
turned out to be near all-powerful, almost indestructable (two main ones
defined as irremovable, but I found a way to get rid of them after
all!), with a bunch of different motivations and/or insanities.

For the poor sods that live in their cities they might as well be gods
for all that the normal people can do about them. Which, I guess, counts
   as 'done' for me.

Besides, I'd prefer proper, decent gods.

Hehe. Just the numbers 0 to 9.

Actually, silver does turn up (the bad guys have silver as their
colour), but it wasn't part of the initial frame. And gold turns up in
an object that causes it all (not shown in the story yet, possibly not
   ever).

Kinda makes sense this way, even though I completely forgot about
tolerances (or didn't see them as part of the 10 proper colours).
