    Kickstarters for complete unknowns have succeeded before. If you are   
   TOTALLY unknown -- no friends, no network of acquaintances -- yes,   
   you'll fail, because you have no way to get the word out. But if you   
   have people who know you and respect you and are willing to get the word   
   out -- say, other published authors who think your stuff is worth
