   It was politicians who made the decision for the Israeli military. The   
   commanders did not say "take the women out of combat." The Orthodox political   
   parties caused the _government_ to make that decision.    
      
   I realize that you are dealing with several different critics but answering   
   one thing at a time would be helpful. Also, policy decisions are not tactical   
   decisions. If the DoD said "no women in such a such a role" the local   
   commanders would have to    
   comply. Or seem to comply if they could get away with it.
