The idea of women       as horse archers works until the opponents start wearing decent armor. A child       can draw a bow that        would kill or disable an unarmored man.        >        > >        >        >        >        > Women ride in "Three day equestrian trials" in direct competition with men,       and win.       >               When I had a girlfriend who did barrel-racing in rodeo it was an all-women       event and I bet it still is. Of _course_ there were always cowboys who       challenged champion barrel-racers to race for stakes. It wasn't really fair.       Only one of the male        challengers had an actual barrel-racing trained horse but a good cutting horse       can learn it fast. And none of them had the years of experience that the girls       did. Still, with anything from a couple of hundred to a couple of thousand       dollars at stake, not        one guy ever won.               --        Will in New Haven              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
